Breast Cancer Advocacy with United Church of Christ in Makati City

Being an advocate of Breast Cancer is such a great honor...

Nowadays, most women are not concern about their breast.
OFTEN, PROPER BREAST CARE ARE NEGLECTED...
Let me ask you ladies several questions,
How much do you get to spend for a single bottle of lotion? for a facial wash? for a nail lacquer?
How much time do you spend to apply your makeup each day?
With BREAST SELF EXAMINATION (BSE), you need not to spend any penny.
Just spend few minutes every month to make sure that you are free from any possible palpable mass in your breasts. It doesn't require too much time and effort to check on your own breast.

This is what we, advocates of Philippine Foundation for Breast Care are educating the people, MEN AND WOMEN of both genders need to be aware of this. MEN CAN ALSO HAVE BREAST CANCER AND NOT ONLY WOMEN.

Breasts are not only there to add femininity and masculinity to our human body. They have purpose, especially to women who are breast feeding. They deserve proper care and diagnostic treatment if necessary. Annual mammogram for 40 years old and above and Ultrasound (UTZ) for younger ages.

The only way to prevent Breast Cancer is thru early detection.
However, please do remember this:
NOT ALL LUMPS ARE CANCEROUS.
If you notice a palpable lump or mass on breast while doing BSE, consult with your surgeon.
Anxiety and fear is common, but nothing is sure unless you'll have it seen and consulted properly. Should you wait for the mass to become worsen?

BREAST CARE is such an important matter that everyone needs to practice and eventually become a part of their lives. Moreover that Philippines is one of the leading countries with regards to morbidity and mortality of Breast Cancer.

If you want to know more about our foundation and our advocacy, feel free to comment below and it will be my pleasure to assist you. We need additional manpower and reliable resources to make a change on trend of Breast Cancer in the Philippines. We do Breast Cancer advocacy nationwide, if you're interested to have a Breast Cancer awareness in your place, please let me know as well. I'll lead you to our contact person in-charge for proper scheduling.

After health teaching, we divided the participants into several groups for focus teaching.
I handled a group consisting of mothers, fathers, single ladies and gentlemen on proper BSE.

Our breast model
Left clear half represents breast during non-menstrual period while the
right brown half represents the breast during menstrual period.
Do you notice the differences of your breast during your  menstrual period? It feels more tender and firm right?
After the group workshop, we then proceeded to FREE BREAST SCREENING.
